Department of Electronics Accreditation of Computer Courses (DOEACC)
Introduced in 1991 by Department of Electronics (DOE), these courses offer a certain quality and standard in computer education. There are four levels of courses under this scheme.
'O' Level/Foundational Level affirms the individuals competence as programmer assistant. Students who have completed +2 and the 'O' Level course from accredited institutes can appear for this exam. Direct applications need a year's relevant job experience in IT including teaching in a recognised training centre or a pass in the NCVT-DP & CS (Data Preparation & Computer Software), along with the basic +2 qualification.
'A' Level/Advanced Diploma Level: The candidate who qualifies 'A' level is equipped for a programmer's job. Duration of course is 11/2 years. Eligibility for 'A' Level Exam: Graduate + 'O' level + accredited 'A' level course. For Direct Applicants - Graduate + 'O' Level + 1 year relevant experience.
'B' Level/Graduate Level: Those who qualify this exam will be proficient as systems analyst/software designer/engineer. Duration: 3 years full time programme. Eligibility for 'B' Level Exam: Graduate + 'A' Level + accredited 'B' level course. For Direct entrants: Graduate + 'A' Level + 2 years relevant experience or graduate + 3 years relevant experience.
'C' Level/Masters Level: The candidate who qualifies this exam can be a systems manager. Duration: 18 months full time course. Eligibility: B.Tech/BE/MCA/MSc/MBA (after BSc (Maths) + 'B' Level + 'C' Level Course.
Direct applicants: BTech/BE/MCA/MSc [Maths/Statistics/Operation Research] /MBA (after B.Sc(Maths) + 'B' Level + 18 months relevant experience.

"1)Applications Engineer: In this field you are responsible in designing parts of applications such as interface, middleware and infrastructure to conform to the company’s design standards.
2)Personnel Consultant: Personnel consultant helps in project planning and implementation. They also help in the creation of prototypes and alternative applications with colleagues.
3)Chief IT Auditor: The chief IT auditor establishes methods to audit and review computer systems and develop examination and evaluation methods for IT and networking systems to ensure conformation with mandates standards for ethics and company security.
4)Lead Software Modeler: These professionals manage software development groups in the design, development, encoding and debugging of application software.
5)Senior Web Modeler: A senior web modeler plans and conducts web-based software and coordinates new product development such as marketing, production and other stages bringing new software in the internet.
Communication and Messaging 6)Administrator: Communication administ-rators control e-mail, messaging and groupware systems including computer servers, operating systems and recovery programs. They also fix problems and attend to computer needs of a company.
7)Data developer: A data developer evaluates data requirements of a company and design models of data flow.
8)Business Intelligence Analyst: These professionals develop the company’s information analysis and create practical solutions. They also review and analyse information from inside and outside resources and transform this information into a language that can be understood by everyone in the company. A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or computer engineering is necessary.
9)Network Manager: Network manager manages the everyday operations and maintenance of the company’s networking and automation operations. They also cooperate with network engineers and analysts to implement, test, deploy and incorporate network systems. To fill this post one should have a good degree in any computer related course and a several years of experience in computer networking (Singh, n.d.)"
UG:
For admission in a bachelor’s degree, the candidate must have passed the higher secondary school certificate (10+2) examination with science subject such as biology, maths and chemistry. For IITs, It is mandatory to qualify in the Joint Entrance Examinations (J.E.E). The duration for this course is 4 years.
PG:
The eligibility criteria for pursuing a master’s degree are holding a bachelor's degree in (B.E/B.Tech) or any other equivalent branches of engineering. The duration for this course is 2 years.
