Change in crops

Farmers alter/replace the crop varieties in their farms with cultivars which are able to cope better with drought and other weather extremes.
Crops with high yield variability (e.g. wheat or maize) are substituted by crops with lower productivity but more stable yields (e.g. fodder or sorghum).
Agriculture Contingency plans in the time of drought or flood have been prepared for each district by National Innovations in Climate Resilient Agriculture under the Ministry of agriculture and farmer’s welfare.
